HOW I STAY POSITIVE

Hi guys. Sorry for the lack of blogposts, but I'm currently in the middle of a lot of exams, and I'll be having exams until 21 June. But I hope you'll bare with me.....

If you look trough the social media, you'll most likely see some depressing quotes and pictures. I believe that a lot of young people are having a hard time, and can't really find a way to stay happy and positive. For myself I've had very very bad times, where I thought that I wouldn't be happy again. And still there's a lot of shit things going on in my life, but that's a part of it I've learned.
A couple of months ago I had a thought; wouldn't let the bad thoughts get to me anymore. I took a decision, and I made it reality. Life isn't fun if you allow the negative thoughts get to you. Of course you'll be sad, confused and angry sometimes. That's life, and that's healthy. But you have to get up again. If you fall, you don't just lay down on the ground the rest of your life, huh? No, you get up. 
So i thought I'd give some tips and tricks on how stay positive. 

  1. Accept you and your body. As I've written about before on the blog, I've had a hard time accepting my body. But finally I've found peace within my self and my body. And I'm happy. My body does everything I need it to do, it works perfectly fine. Why should I be ungrateful?. You don't have to just accept your body, but also you as an individual and as the amazing person you are.
  2. Look at inspiring, motivational and happy pictures and quotes, instead of finding depressing instagram accounts and pictures. That only makes you think worse things than you already do. 
  3. It's okay to cry. It's okay to let it all out, and if it helps crying: cry. There's no shame in crying. "crying does not indicate that you are weak. Since birth, it has always been a sign that you're alive." 
  4. Smile. Smile when you look in the mirror, smile at strangers. Smile. 
  5. Make your password to your phone or computer a positive word. My password is "Smile" And every time i have to use my phone, I'll say 'smile' inside of my head, and remind myself to smile. 
  6. Explore. See new places. Go around in your neighborhood and take a look around. 
  7. Learn to see the beauty in all things. Learn to love the simple, and learn to se the beauty in a bee that's flying past you. 
  8. Take care of yourself. Treat yourself right. Treat yourself like you would treat your child. You wouldn't ever say that your child is worthless, so why would you do that to yourself? 
  9. Cut of friends that aren't good for you. Surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you. "I ruined myself for a lot of people who weren't worth it".
  10. Workout, drink water and eat good. I'm not saying you should go all in on the healthy lifestyle. But I know that I become a lot more happy when i workout, and eat right. But sure you can have that cake and ice-cream as well. ;) This is a way to be good to your body, and treat your body. Remember to eat, never starve yourself. 
  11. Start your day with positive thought, and there'll most likely be a positive outcome. 
  12. Don't hold on to anger. I've got this quote that I like to have with me. It goes something like this "If you're still mad about the thing you're mad about in 24 hours, then it's worth your time. If not, let it go" Simply, ask yourself if you'll still be mad about this in 24 hours, if not it's not worth wasting time and energy on. 
  13. It's okay to fail. You're only human. 
  14. Be who you want to be. In a world where you feel constantly judged, it's hard. But everybody is too busy worrying about themselves and what others think of them, to even notice anything else. 
  15. Be thankful. Be thankful for what you have, little or a lot. Be thankful.
