The media kinda creates a picture of how the 'perfect body' looks like, we see all of these pictures of women and men looking hella good, having flawless skin, perfect body and amazing hair. But that's just not reality, of course you have a pimple now and then or maybe you've got acne, or frizzy hair, or stretch marks. And that's totally okay, because that's a part of you and that's things that makes you beautiful and unique.
I have no idea why these things are seen as imperfections, when they're really not? They're just natural things. Everybody has "imperfections".
You have to be thin, but you've got to have curves still (ass and boobs). That's the idea that I've gotten from the media. And that is almost impossible to get that neutrally. I think its important that you know that you are beautiful, just the way you are (getting all Bruno Mars up here, haha.. But for real though) If you aren't happy about how you look, you can do something about it. The sad thing is that people often do that the wrong way, such as bulimia and anorexia. Which is some very serious disorders. Many people think that this is the easy way. But it's not healthy in any way for you both mentally and physically. In a very young age we begin to want to look a certain way; actually 95% of those who have eating disorders are between the ages of 12 and 25.
If you aren't happy about the way you look, you should do it the healthy way: have a healthy lifestyle; eat somewhat healthy (It is okay to take that piece of chocolate, or go out and get ice cream with your friends!) and workout - Working out can seem pretty boring and not be the funniest thing to do, but you've just got to find the kind of workout that works for you. Personally i do not enjoy running at all. But i do enjoy bicycling, and doing things like squats and jumping jacks, and also things like yoga. I like to watch ' blogilates ' on youtube, I'll link her channel in the end of the blogpost. -
You may think that working out is just if you want to lose weight. But it doesn't have to be. I've always been very thin, and when i started to get a bit more thighs i panicked and thought that it was weird because I've always been so thin. So i didn't get what was happening with my body, and had a really hard time accepting that I was actually gaining weight. But now I'm actually working on my thighs, not because i want them thin again, but because i want to get them stronger, and bigger. I'm also working on my arms, since they're still like sticks, which I'm not that happy about, not that there's something wrong with that, but personally I'm just not happy about it. Working out is the only way i can gain weight. AND I've got to say it's not always that great being very thin. Trust me. You can't find any clothes that fits -Finding tight jeans that fits you perfectly is a nightmare and almost impossible, and you always get comments like "wow you're thin" "eat some McDonald" "do you have an eating disorder" "why do you workout when you're so thin" - I've gotten these comments countless times.
Back to the main theme 'the perfect body'. Many people think that if they have the perfect body, and looked like they've always wanted to look, they'd be happy. I'm pretty sure that's not the case. Because we'll always find flaws on ourselves, but they're really not flaws to anyone else, they're just a part of us. And that's what makes us unique individuals. Find peace in your body and mind.
And in the end does it really matter if you're curvy, thin or thick? If you've got a great personality, then that's all that matters.
Let your body be your perfect body. Learn to feel comfortable within yourself.
" “It’s okay not to be okay.” Sometimes we put on a facade of “fine-ness” because we think we have to be perfect for the world. It’s okay to be figuring things out, working things through, still in the thick of it. Being honest and authentic and saying you need help or are going through a hard time is sometimes the most beautiful thing a human can do. "
