Hi everybody!
Today it's going to be all about skincare, and how I take care of my skin. I think I've made a blogpost about this before, and I still use some of the same things as in the other blogpost.
I've battled with acne and breakouts for many years. But for almost two years I've gotten it under control. I used to have acne all over my face, except for the cheek area. Now I have a very very small amount of blemishes on my face, and I'm so so thankful and happy that my skin is a lot more clean now. I do have scars on my face, because I used to pick my blemishes, like a lot of other teens. I'm still guilty tho.... But PLEASE for your own sake, try to NOT pick the blemishes, and just let them be, trust me I KNOW IT'S HARD!!!
If you have bad acne I would recommend you talking to your doctor og going to a dermatologist to get the right help! I'm planning on going to a dermatologist this year, just to see what she/he would recommend. Especially because my skin is very red, and I'd like to know if there's a cream or something that could help me with that.
BUT into my skin care routine! - Please bear in mind, I'm not at all an expert.

I've talked about this before on the blog. Actually this is the first time I tried to use the body scrub on my face. I of course read on the bottle, and it didn't say it wasn't able for the face. It's not a harsh scrub at all, so i figured it would work out. |
 |
And it did! It left my skin looking glowing and healthy (I know my skin is very red, but I just came out from a hot steamy bath, since I'm trying to get rid of my cold!) |

This has been my best friend facemask-wise for about 3 years - ITS AMAZING! It lastes so long, I've had this for about 3 years, surely I havn't used every week. The women I talked to in the shop used it once every week, and it lasted her for about a year, so it is sure long lasting! You don't need a very thick layer either, so that's probably why. It's a clay mask. LOVE IT!!! |
 |
I just wash it of with cold water, in circulating motions. |
 |
After that, I like to use my moisturizing mask, this one is from "Matas natur" I'm not sure if this is only available in Denmark, but surely you cand find a mask like this in your country! |
 |
In general I reach out for products with SPF in it. Like foundation and powder. I like to use SPF all year around since you always need to be protected from the sun. And it's just a thing that I'm quite aware of. This bronzer has SPF 15 in it, and is waterproof, what more could you ask for?! |
 |
Again, a product from Rimmel. It has SPF 20 in it. I prefer using foundations or BB creams with SPF because my skin usually breaks out if i use sunscreen on my face. |

This is the thing that has helped me and my acne the most! It's called BASIRON, it's very harsh on the skin, and it dries the skin out a lot, so you've got to use a day creme or a night creme everyday. Not everybody can use this, if you have very sensitive skin I wouldn't recommend this. Even though I have sensitive skin, somehow my skin dosen't react with redness or burning. But if you try this, don't put it all over your face the first time. You've got to make sure your skin is okay with this product (!!) You can get this with 5% (the light version) and 10% (the harsh version) talk to your doctor or your local chemist about which one is the best for your skin.
Also - Every night i like to cleanse my face with a cleanser from NIVEA.
A kind of cliché thing is DRINK WATER! But it's so so so true! try to drink as much water as you can! You can get apps to help you remember drinking water, and that personally helps me a lot.
Last but least; love your skin and don't be ashamed to show it without makeup! Everybody experiences having acne or breakouts. IT'S NORMAL! I know how it effects your confidence. But LOVE YOURSELF! You shouldn't EVER feel like you have to hide yourself.
Love you. xx Thea |
